HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Dr. Varghese Thomas, a visionary from the southernmost part of India, in the early 1987 started Mission to the Unreached in Himachal Pradesh. (North India). Consequently the work was reorganized and moved to National Capital Region in 1991. Presently, it has its head office at New Ashok Nagar, Delhi. In the year 1994, MTU had introduced various branches of its activities such as Leadership centers, Literacy Centers, Children’s Clubs, Spiritual Gatherings and Literature work. Then it started Child Development work by providing basic teaching to the poor children of the slums. Seeing the abandoned children in the community, Dr. Thomas recognized the need for providing shelter. The orphanage was started in the year 1998, which also led to the opening of a formal school i.e. Saviour’s School. Meanwhile MTU had begun to provide a onetime meal and education for the slum children.
